Company based in Durban looking for a hardworking & reliable Code 14 Driver with PDP Hazardous goods. You will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of goods and be tasked with driving and maintaining trucks that will be assigned to you, as well as working closely with our team of dispatchers in order to plan routes and track deliveries. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience within this field.
Responsibilities:
Carry out vehicle inspection
Conduct pre trip inspection
Keep log books and tasks performed and overall trip details for capturing purposes
Preparation of vehicle for trip
Operate Ultra Heavy- Duty Vehicle
Drive long distances to deliver goods to customers
Load and unload cargo
Record cargo deliveries
Refuel and clean vehicle
Report road incidents to the dispatcher
Follow traffic laws
Inspect trucks and record issues
Follow accident procedures
Keep activities log and log hours
Report mechanical problems to maintenance personnel
Plan routes using GPS system
Get goods to the client on time.
Transporting of fuel to different destinations in and around KZN
Education:
Valid PDP and drivers’ licence Code 14
Minimum of 5+ years’ experience as a Truck Driver within the fuel logistics industry will be adv.
Must plan for truck services, renewal of PDPs and licenses
Road & Traffic Department Safety & Regulations
Health and Safety Regulations
Driving allocated in KwaZulu Natal Province only
Vehicle and Power take off knowledge and usage
Navigational Skills
Be punctual for work as some days working hours vary
Targets must be reached weekly
Maximum legal limit must be loaded, for each load
Must be able to read, speak and understand different languages i.e. English and Afrikaans and any other African language
Must have traceable references
Medically fit as per role
Salaries will be paid monthly
Provident Fund will be offered once candidate is employed permanently
Working on Sundays & Public Holidays, time and a half will be paid (no sleep outs)
Overtime will be expected and paid out accordingly
