Provide administrative support for the Billing Office at U.S. Naval Hospital Yokosuka, Japan. U.S. Naval Hospital Yokosuka serves approximately 33,000 beneficiaries throughout the western Pacific.- Process approximately 35,000 accounting clerical transactions during a 12-month period. The contractor shall process an average of 11 transactions per hour..
- Examine and verify, accounting transactions, funding obligations, collection vouchers, and associated data.
- Maintain 100% compliance with the U.S. Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
- Provide prompt and courteous customer services in person, by telephone, and written communication.
- Compile all necessary data for a Government representative to create invoices. Compile information for approximately 88 invoices per day and approximately 35,000 invoices per year.
- Research the billing program to acquire the control number for invoices for a Government representative to post payments and denials into the billing program. Review encounters in the billing program to determine whether the encounter is billable. The review may involve comparing Other Health Insurance (OHI) information in the Composite Health Care System (CHCS) and other sources with the information in the claims program. The contractor shall research approximately 300 transactions per day and approximately 7,600 transactions per year.
- Evaluate DD 2569s received from the clinics for completeness. Evaluate approximately 75 DD 2569s per day and approximately 900 DD 2569s per year.
- Investigate invoices that print from CHCS to determine if the encounter is billable. Investigate approximately 21 claims per hour and approximately 46,800 claims per year.
- Perform a full range of duties consistent with their profession, education, training, experience, and assigned responsibilities..

- High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalency.
- Minimum one (1) year of experience providing medical administrative support services.

Minimum six (6) months experience with the following systems preferred:
- Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology Application (AHLTA)
- Composite Health Care systems (CHCS) and/or MHS GENESIS
- Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- List of KSA for each position Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Ability to type 50 WPM, preferred
- Ability to use standard office equipment, such as personal computers, copiers, fax machines, and telephone systems.
- Knowledge of medical ethics, telephone etiquette, and excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Medical terminology, desirable.
